1. Who we are

PurpleHope is an informational app for browsing Alzheimer's-related clinical trial information.

2. What data PurpleHope processes

PurpleHope allows you to enter profile filters on your device, including:

  • Cognitive stage preference
  • Biomarker selections
  • Study type preference
  • Optional ZIP code and radius for distance filtering

This profile/filter information is stored locally on your device.

3. What PurpleHope does not collect from your profile

PurpleHope does not upload your profile selections to PurpleHope servers, does not require an account, and does not sell your personal information.

4. Trial data source

PurpleHope downloads trial dataset files from an Amazon S3 endpoint populated from public ClinicalTrials.gov data.

Standard network/infrastructure logs (for example, IP address, request time, and user-agent) may be generated by hosting/network providers when dataset files are requested.

5. Location/ZIP handling

If you provide ZIP code for radius filtering, ZIP resolution is performed locally using bundled offline ZIP centroid data. No user ZIP lookup request is sent to PurpleHope servers.

6. How data is used

  • Display clinical trial information
  • Filter and sort trial results by local profile settings
  • Compute approximate trial-site distance on your device

7. Data retention and deletion

Profile/filter data remains on your device until changed, deleted, or the app is uninstalled. You can delete your profile in the app.

8. Sharing features

If you use iOS share features, shared information is controlled by you and the destination you choose. Do not share personal health information unless you understand the destination's privacy practices.

9. Children

PurpleHope is not intended for children under 13.

10. Security

PurpleHope uses reasonable technical measures for operation, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is guaranteed 100% secure.

11. Policy changes

This policy may be updated over time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.

PurpleHope does not determine your eligibility. Only qualified clinicians and trial sites can determine eligibility.

5. User responsibilities

  • Use PurpleHope lawfully
  • Independently verify medical and trial information
  • Consult qualified healthcare professionals before acting on app content
  • Use caution when sharing sensitive personal information through third-party channels

6. Privacy and local profile data

PurpleHope stores profile/filter selections locally on your device for matching and distance filtering.

7. Intellectual property

The PurpleHope app, branding, and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Third-party services and content

PurpleHope depends on third-party infrastructure and public datasets, including AWS and ClinicalTrials.gov. PurpleHope is not responsible for third-party outages, content errors, or policy changes.

9. Disclaimers of warranties

PurpleHope is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PurpleHope and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the app.
