1. Overview

LatentLens ("the app", "we", "our") is an offline-first AI education app for iPhone published by JT Scientific, located in California, USA. We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we will never do with it.

2. Data We Collect — and Where It Lives

All data generated by using LatentLens is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is transmitted to any server operated by us or any third party.

Data typeWhat it containsLeaves your device?
Learning progressCompleted lessons, XP points, day streak countNo
Lesson historyWhich lessons you completed and quiz results (correct / incorrect)No

App settingsAppearance mode, reduce-motion preferenceNo
Premium statusWhether you have an active subscription or lifetime purchaseNo — managed locally via Apple StoreKit

We do not create or require a user account. There is no login, no email address stored by us, and no user profile of any kind.

3. In-App Purchases

All in-app purchases and subscription billing are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We never receive, store, or process your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs the payment transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy

Your premium entitlement is verified locally via StoreKit 2 — Apple's native framework — each time the app launches. No purchase data leaves your device.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, and have no access to:

5. Third-Party SDKs and Services

LatentLens does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, social login, or tracking SDKs. The only Apple-provided framework used for runtime functionality beyond standard iOS is StoreKit (for in-app purchases), which is part of the iOS operating system and governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

6. Children's Privacy

LatentLens does not knowingly collect any personal data from any user, including children under 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions such as the EU). Because no personal data is collected from any user, the app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable international regulations by design. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at jtscientific2016@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored in the SwiftData database on your device. Deleting the app from your device permanently and irrevocably removes all associated data. We hold no copy of this data and cannot recover it after deletion.

To cancel a subscription or request a refund, use your Apple ID account settings or contact Apple Support directly — we do not handle subscription management outside of Apple's systems. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com for refund requests.

8. Security

Because no data is transmitted off your device, there is no network-facing attack surface for your personal information. Your device's built-in encryption (iOS Data Protection, which encrypts the SwiftData store using your device passcode) protects all locally stored data. We encourage you to use a strong passcode and enable Face ID or Touch ID for device-level protection.

9. California Residents — CCPA Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you the following rights with respect to your personal information:

Right to Know

You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, and the purposes for which it is used. As described in this policy, we collect no personal information — there is nothing to disclose.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you. Because all data is stored on your device and we hold no copy, you can exercise this right by deleting the app.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising. This right is not applicable.

Right to Correct

We hold no personal information about you; there is nothing to correct.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

How to submit a request

To submit a verifiable consumer request regarding any of the rights above, contact us at jtscientific2016@gmail.com. Because we hold no personal information, we anticipate no data to provide, correct, or delete beyond what you can accomplish by deleting the app yourself. We will respond to all requests within 45 days as required by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and include a note in the App Store release notes for the corresponding app update. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
